Θέμα: Αξιοποίηση και ανάπτυξη των ιαματικών πηγών της Κοινότητας Ριζώματος

Αξιότιμε κύριε Περιφερειάρχη,
Αξιότιμε κύριε Δήμαρχε,

Ο Πανελλήνιος Σύλλογος Ιαματικών Πηγών και Λουτροπόλεων Ελλάδας επανέρχεται στο σημαντικό ζήτημα της αξιοποίησης και ανάπτυξης των ιαματικών πηγών της Κοινότητας Ριζώματος.

Κατά την επίσκεψη και τη συνεργασία που είχε η Περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας με το παράρτημα του Συλλόγου μας στο Ρίζωμα, είχε εκφραστεί η πρόθεση να εξεταστεί σοβαρά το θέμα και να γίνουν ενέργειες για την ανάπτυξη των ιαματικών πηγών της περιοχής.

Θεωρούμε, λοιπόν, ότι είναι η κατάλληλη στιγμή να επανέλθουμε και να ζητήσουμε από την Περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας να εξετάσει εκ νέου το σύνολο του θέματος και να αναζητήσει τη δυνατότητα ένταξης της αξιοποίησης της ιαματικής πηγής σε κάποιο κατάλληλο χρηματοδοτικό ή αναπτυξιακό πρόγραμμα.

Παράλληλα, θέλουμε να υπενθυμίσουμε στον Δήμο Τρικκαίων ότι ο πρώην Δήμαρχος είχε προχωρήσει στη δημιουργία του φακέλου της συγκεκριμένης ιαματικής πηγής, ο οποίος στη συνέχεια αναγνωρίστηκε από την αρμόδια υπηρεσία του Υπουργείου Τουρισμού.

Επίσης, έχει υπάρξει μελέτη για την αξιοποίηση της συγκεκριμένης ιαματικής πηγής. Πρόκειται, επομένως, για μια σημαντική δυνατότητα που δεν θα πρέπει να παραμένει ανεκμετάλλευτη, ιδιαίτερα σε μια περιοχή με σημαντικές τουριστικές δυνατότητες.

Ο Σύλλογός μας θεωρεί ότι η ανάπτυξη της ιαματικής πηγής μπορεί να αποτελέσει σημαντικό μοχλό ανάπτυξης όχι μόνο για την Κοινότητα Ριζώματος αλλά και για ολόκληρη την ευρύτερη περιοχή. Η αξιοποίηση του εξαιρετικού ιαματικού νερού μπορεί να συνδεθεί με την τουριστική ανάπτυξη, δημιουργώντας νέες δυνατότητες και προοπτικές για την τοπική οικονομία.

Σε ό,τι αφορά τον Δήμο Τρικκαίων, παρά το γεγονός ότι συμμετέχει στον Σύνδεσμο Ιαματικών Πηγών, διαπιστώνουμε εδώ και χρόνια έλλειψη ουσιαστικού ενδιαφέροντος για την αξιοποίηση της συγκεκριμένης πηγής. Με την παρούσα επιστολή εκφράζουμε την έντονη διαμαρτυρία μας για αυτή την αδράνεια και ζητούμε από τον Δήμο να συνεργαστεί άμεσα με την Περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας και το παράρτημα του Συλλόγου μας στο Ρίζωμα, ώστε να προχωρήσει επιτέλους η αξιοποίηση της ιαματικής πηγής.

Θέλουμε επίσης να επισημάνουμε ότι στο Ρίζωμα λειτουργεί παράρτημα του Πανελλήνιου Συλλόγου Ιαματικών Πηγών και Λουτροπόλεων Ελλάδας, με πρόεδρο τον κ. Ευάγγελο Γκάνα, ο οποίος είναι παράλληλα μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Συλλόγου μας.

Ο κ. Γκάνας, μαζί με τα μέλη του παραρτήματος, προσπαθεί εδώ και χρόνια να ενημερώσει και να πείσει όλους τους αρμόδιους φορείς της περιοχής ότι η συγκεκριμένη ιαματική πηγή πρέπει να αξιοποιηθεί. Ο Σύλλογός μας στηρίζει αυτή την προσπάθεια και ζητά από όλους τους αρμόδιους να αναλάβουν τις απαραίτητες πρωτοβουλίες.

Παράλληλα, καλούμε τα μέσα ενημέρωσης της περιοχής να αναδείξουν το συγκεκριμένο ζήτημα, ώστε να γίνει γνωστή η δυνατότητα αξιοποίησης της ιαματικής πηγής και να δημιουργηθεί η απαραίτητη δημόσια συζήτηση για την ανάπτυξή της.

Η περιοχή είναι τουριστική και διαθέτει σημαντικές δυνατότητες. Η αξιοποίηση της ιαματικής πηγής μπορεί να λειτουργήσει συμπληρωματικά προς τον τουρισμό της περιοχής και να συμβάλει ουσιαστικά στην ανάπτυξη της Κοινότητας Ριζώματος και της ευρύτερης περιοχής.

Ζητούμε, επομένως, από την Περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας και τον Δήμο Τρικκαίων:

• να επανεξετάσουν άμεσα το σύνολο του φακέλου της ιαματικής πηγής,
• να αξιοποιήσουν τις υπάρχουσες μελέτες και τα στοιχεία που έχουν ήδη συγκεντρωθεί,
• να εξετάσουν τη δυνατότητα ένταξης του έργου σε διαθέσιμο χρηματοδοτικό ή αναπτυξιακό πρόγραμμα,
• να υπάρξει άμεση συνεργασία της Περιφέρειας, του Δήμου και του παραρτήματος του Συλλόγου μας στο Ρίζωμα,
• και να καταρτιστεί ένα συγκεκριμένο σχέδιο ενεργειών για την αξιοποίηση και ανάπτυξη της ιαματικής πηγής.

Πιστεύουμε ότι δεν υπάρχει πλέον χρόνος για άλλη καθυστέρηση. Η συγκεκριμένη ιαματική πηγή αποτελεί έναν σημαντικό φυσικό πόρο της περιοχής και μπορεί, εφόσον αξιοποιηθεί σωστά, να συμβάλει στην τουριστική και οικονομική ανάπτυξή της.

Αναμένουμε από την Περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας και τον Δήμο Τρικκαίων συγκεκριμένη απάντηση και άμεσες ενέργειες για το σύνολο του θέματος.

Subject: Development and Utilization of the Thermal Springs of the Community of Rizoma

Dear Mr. Regional Governor,
Dear Mr. Mayor,

The Panhellenic Association of Thermal Springs and Spa Towns of Greece would like to once again raise the important issue concerning the utilization and development of the thermal springs located in the Community of Rizoma.

During the visit and cooperation between the Region of Thessaly and our Association’s local branch in Rizoma, the intention was expressed to seriously examine the issue and take action toward the development of the area’s thermal springs.

We therefore consider this to be the appropriate time to return to the matter and request that the Region of Thessaly review the entire issue and explore the possibility of including the development of the thermal spring in an appropriate funding or development programme.

At the same time, we would like to remind the Municipality of Trikala that the former Mayor had proceeded with the preparation of the relevant file concerning this thermal spring, which was subsequently recognized by the competent service of the Ministry of Tourism.

In addition, a study has been prepared concerning the utilization and development of this thermal spring. This represents an important opportunity that should not remain unexploited, particularly in an area with significant tourism potential.

Our Association believes that the development of the thermal spring could become an important driver of development not only for the Community of Rizoma but also for the wider surrounding area. The utilization of its excellent thermal water could be linked with the region’s tourism development, creating new opportunities and prospects for the local economy.

With regard to the Municipality of Trikala, despite its participation in the Association of Thermal Springs, we have observed for many years a lack of substantial interest in the development of this particular spring. Through this letter, we express our strong concern regarding this lack of action and request that the Municipality cooperate immediately with the Region of Thessaly and our Association’s local branch in Rizoma, so that the development of the thermal spring can finally move forward.

We would also like to point out that our Association has a local branch in Rizoma, headed by Mr. Evangelos Gkanas, who is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Panhellenic Association of Thermal Springs and Spa Towns of Greece.

For many years, Mr. Gkanas, together with the members of the local branch, has been working to inform and convince all relevant authorities in the area that this thermal spring must be developed and utilized. Our Association fully supports this effort and calls upon all competent authorities to undertake the necessary initiatives.

At the same time, we call upon the local media to highlight this important issue, so that the potential of the thermal spring becomes widely known and the necessary public discussion is created regarding its development.

The wider area has significant tourism potential. The development of the thermal spring could complement the existing tourism activity and contribute substantially to the development of the Community of Rizoma and the surrounding region.

We therefore request that the Region of Thessaly and the Municipality of Trikala:

• Re-examine immediately the entire file concerning the thermal spring.
• Make use of the existing studies and documentation that have already been prepared.
• Examine the possibility of including the project in an available funding or development programme.
• Establish immediate cooperation between the Region, the Municipality and our Association’s local branch in Rizoma.
• Prepare a specific action plan for the utilization and development of the thermal spring.

We believe that there is no longer any time for further delay. This thermal spring is an important natural resource for the area and, if properly developed, can contribute significantly to its tourism and economic growth.

We look forward to receiving a specific response from the Region of Thessaly and the Municipality of Trikala, as well as to seeing immediate action taken regarding this important matter.
